Other Causes of Bleeding Gums

There are many causes of bleeding gums. Sometimes gingivitis, the starting of gum disease, is to cause. Usually, this can be something that is turned around with time if the patient receives a thorough cleaning from our office and continues to provide themselves with strong oral hygiene habits. Another reason is because the person is predisposed to bleeding. It might just be something genetic. Some people bleed more than others and when this is the case, it might be something that may never go away. Another reason could be that you're pressing down too hard while flossing. This is causing irritation to happen and the gums to cut open and bleed. Slowly moving the floss between the teeth can help prevent bleeding from happening.
